Joan M. (Fir) Montaniel, 70, of Devils Lake, ND, fomerly of Milnor ND, Minneapolis MN, Crookston MN, and Harvey, ND, passed away on Monday evening, September 19, 2011 at her home in the loving care of her family. Funeral services for Joan will be held on Monday, September 26 at 11 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake with Rev. Jeff Nicla officiating. Visitation on Monday will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake, on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m. with a prayer service and time of remembrance at 7 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery, Milnor, on Tuesday, September 27 at 2 p.m. Pastor Roger Johnson will officiate.
